How to move away from false path and transform it to good one

“We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world.”

How to move away from the false path and transform it into the good one, you can begin changing your life. You can change your physical, emotional, or mental situation if you want to change by heart and you can start today.

As we have all created our present situation by the choices we made in the past. If we chose to do nothing, then our situation reflects that. Recognizing that we live in a world of our own creation means that we are responsible. If we don’t like our life the way it is, then we are the ones responsible for making changes.

According to the Sikh lifestyle instructed by Sikh Guru, one should control and get rid of five vices. The Vices are Lust, Anger, Greed, Emotional Attachment, and Ego. These Five vices, lust, anger, greed, attachment and vanity abide in this body,; they deprive the mind of the nectar of goodness but the self-oriented man does not realize this; no one listens to his calls. They are called thieves because they steal Divine virtues from the mind which makes one forget one’s responsibilities. Conditioning of the mind through the Guru’s teachings helps in overcoming them.

The mind needs something. Either you can have good habits or bad habits. If you want to get rid of bad habits, you have to replace it, by good habits. You cannot get rid of the bad habits, and keep your mind empty. Otherwise, your mind will again move to the same bad habits.

Bad habits interrupt your life and prevent you from accomplishing your goals. They imperil your health both mentally and physically. And they waste your time and energy.

Whatever repetitive problem you are struggling with, the good news is that habits can be changed. The fix may be relatively easy or extremely difficult, but when you apply your personal strengths (such as willpower, self-control, and optimism), you can make it happen. Of course, many of us would like to get rid of or change our negative habits, and that is where the challenge begins. It can be surprisingly difficult to change bad habits, and we may need to take various approaches to find a way out of our ruts.

The mind seeks to fulfil the objectives it observes. These goals come from many sources, including parents, relatives, friends, teachers, and even TV advertisements. Many of these objectives are not in a person’s best interest.  Many habits are programmed during childhood. Some, such as bad temper, impatience, and poor eating practices, are not acceptable in adulthood yet they still guide behaviour.

If you need to distract your mind then

Keep yourself busy in some activity which is productive. When you are totally busy, you will have no time to think about bad habits. Only because you have time to think only then negative thoughts will come into your mind. Think about something else or make your mind thoughtless. In order to that, you need to get a permanent distraction. Another distraction is the only way to get rid of present one.

Find a hobby, Learn new skills, Read books/novels, Play Outdoor/Indoor sports, great Movies/ holy Songs /encouraging songs in your suitable time you can try any of the above hobby or skill, it is a great way to utilize time also it makes people forget about sad and dull present situation!

The mind needs something to think.

If you give objectives to the mind, your mind will think about objectives. If you have priorities in your life, your mind will think about your priorities, but if you don’t give anything to your mind, that is worth striving for, your mind will pick anything from your daily experience, and start wandering in that direction. That’s the reason, objectives are important in life. That gives the mind, the destination, and the mind keeps on searching for the path, to reach the destination. You need to focus on the true, honest and pure teaching of the Holy Scripture (word of God).

Fill Your Mind with God’s Word

If our mind is filled with the Word of God, the Holy Spirit will enlighten our mind in an instant through the intuition and cause us to remembrance a proper verse which will show us what to do. We do not need any man to tell us not to steal because we know that this is the Word of God. This word is already on our mind. If we can be one with the Holy Scripture in this way in other matters, we will know God’s will in all things. When you pack your mind with effects full of senseless words you can’t expect to have pure thoughts. You need to focus on the true, honest and pure teaching of the Holy Scripture (word of God).

Keep Your Mind Clean

There is nothing as disobedient as an undisciplined mind, and there is nothing as obedient as a disciplined mind. Anger will never disappear so long as thoughts of resentment are cherished in the mind. Anger will disappear just as soon as thoughts of resentment are forgotten. You need to focus on the true, honest and pure teaching of the Holy Scripture (word of God).

Make Responsibility to Somebody

“Every day we have plenty of opportunities to get angry, stressed or offended. But what you’re doing when you indulge these negative emotions is giving something outside yourself power over your happiness. You can choose to not let little things upset you.” Accept responsibility for your actions. Be accountable for your results. Take ownership of your mistakes.

Avoid Temptation

The beginning of all temptation lies in a wavering mind and little trust in God, for as a rudderless ship is driven hither and yon by waves, so a careless and indecisive man is tempted in many ways. Nobody should trust their virtue with necessity, the force of which is never known till it is felt, and it is, therefore, one of the first duties to avoid the temptation of it. You need to focus on the true, honest and pure teaching of the Holy Scripture. Knowledge of God’s Word is a protection against deception, temptation, accusation, even persecution.

Practice meditation and physical exercise (even morning walk) to tame your mind. Slow down so that you don’t react to those thoughts. Thoughts will come and go. You need not react to it.

By the practice of meditation, you never have to worry, with what to do with your life, but you always have the clarity about the next step that you have to take in your life. The practice of meditation opens the door for the future.

Meditation can help you to look into your past, present, and future. Make it a daily habit of practising meditation first thing in the morning. Next, after meditation, the habit that you have to imbibe in your life is physical exercise. Physical exercise helps you to churn the fresh energy from the body. Meditation is an exercise for the mind, while physical exercise is an exercise for your brain and body.

Choose your path, based on your nature; whether it be Karma yoga (the path of action), the path of knowledge or wisdom, the path of meditation or the path of devotion or love… all path’s lead to divinity. All paths are divine. You are divine.

How you enter truth is irrelevant; whether you call your path Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Buddhist, Islam etc. is not important, all paths lead to divinity. If your focus is on right action, the action for the greater good, offering this action without attachment, you will arrive in the light. You are light.

Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers, you cannot be comfortable. The point is, once you make a choice, there is always a way to follow through. The toughest purpose is often just making the choice to get started. You have an enormous amount of power to control the quality of your life. Don’t settle for doing anything. Make a choice to have the life you want, choose a path to start working on it, and make a choice to get started now.

“You cannot always control what goes on outside. But you can always control what goes on inside.”
