Your profession and you

Astrology isn’t fortune-telling, nor do astrologers speak of life being fated. As agents of free will, we always have a choice. We need to drive our lives in the direction we choose or else risk having life’s events control us. We usually have more options than we think we do; our horoscopes can quickly suggest possibilities that may have been overlooked. But, the choice is this: either you try to live your life by predictions, or you have the capability to make a plan and fulfill the plan. All those minds which are incapable of a plan will look for a forecast. The stars that you see in the sky are far away, so very far away that they have nothing to do with you. The planet sun and the moon have the influence upon the earth and water also. But above all, what is within you has the biggest impact on you. All those who are incapable of committing themselves to a plan and fulfilling it, want a prediction. The advantage with predictions is, you can keep changing them. But if a scheme has to work, you have to pay enormous attention to creating one. Then you have to stick to it.

Students may go through a problem of selecting a career after completing their 10th, 12th, graduation or further education, etc.

When some children and their parents are focused that a particular course is going to be taken, many of them have confusion on the choices available for professional courses after higher secondary.

The selection of a profession depends on the job prospects of the field and most certainly the interest of the candidate. Though a lot depends on the personal taste and choice of an individual, there are various profession options after completing necessary education. Our choices are subject to many inspirations – personal, cultural, social, and environmental. There may also be several opportunities, several “choices” for you, instead of a single, right thing. Keep in mind that as you change, learning and experiencing new things, and external factors change, such as the economy, you will continue to go through and adjust your career choices accordingly.

In planning, a professional considers which skills will be in demand in the future. Once you are sure of your interests and expertise you can start looking for a job. To know which jobs you want to consider, the search for the perfect job starts with you. You should think about your interests and skills before thinking about specific jobs. Many graduates only look for jobs that precisely match their course.

A paid job brings an income, freedom and the chance to learn and do new things. Getting a first job is not always easy, and people often have to apply for some employment before they are successful.

Remember that about 75 to 80 percent of employment are never adequately publicized. It is important to ‘access your supporters’ and uses any networks you may have to find out about work opportunities.

Practice interview techniques. You may not succeed initially, but try to remain positive. Don’t let the lack of experience discourage you from applying for the job you want! If you are a student, recent graduate or entry-level applicant, it is understandable that your experience might be a bit thin. Lack of relevant experience is a common problem for many people entering the employees or even changing careers.

The most successful candidates are the ones whose ultimate aims align with those of the organization. The group wants to understand more about your career goals. They care about your career goals because they want to hire someone who is motivated, proactive, and likely to stick around and work hard if hired, remember that the organization is going to be investing considerable time, energy, and money in hiring and training someone for this job. You must at least show an honest intention to stay long enough to be a sound investment. If you have some “job hopping” on your resume, it’s particularly important to make the case that you’re now ready for a long-term role.

Another option is Starting a business.

Starting a business is an option to consider. Although experience and qualifications can be helpful in starting a business, they are not essential. There are some programs aimed at helping young people build their enterprise skills and develop innovative ideas. Some of these are offered at the school, and some are offered outside of school.

Non-academic activities that also will help you get a profession option. Those who get involved with extra-curricular activities early on in their university experience are attractive to potential bosses. But what types of activities are out there and which types will develop those soft skills, making you useful to a future boss? Not all schools will offer formal clubs in all these categories. If you see something, you’re interested in that your school doesn’t offer, try joining a community group or even a general or an online group to explore the interest further! Many of these topics are available at summer camp activities, as well. You can also consider starting a club at your school if you are looking for a way to get involved in something you are interested in while also showing leadership and initiative.

Real success is much more than having a lot of wealth and fame. Enjoying the work, you do is, in some ways, more important than having a large bank account. And above, if you enjoy the work you do, there’s a greater chance you will do great work and get paid accordingly.
