Faith in God

Faith in God

“Faith is the complete reliance on the power and goodness of Spirit and the firm belief that you are always connected to this goodness. Always affirm your faith and not your doubt. “

“Believe nothing merely because you have been told it. Do not believe what your teacher tells you merely out of respect for the teacher. But whatever, after due examination and analysis, you find to be kind, conducive to the good, the benefit, the welfare of all beings – that doctrine believes and cling to, and take it as your guide.”

-(Bhagwat Gita)

“Dedicate you’re being to God. He is the one to be ultimately relied upon. Those who know of his support are forever free from fear, worry, and sorrow.”

Faith is confidence or trust in a person, thing, or deity or in the doctrines or teaching of religion. It is also the belief that is not based on the proof. If you are faithful and honest, you will not think negatively about the person, deity or your guide or in the teaching of your guide and you will never doubt him or her which will give you happiness and peace of mind.

In present-day life a large number of people complain because they have been totally unable to achieve real peace and happy life because, despite their efforts and their attempts at happiness, they are not satisfied at all. The reason why people end up in such a predicament is that they try to find happiness in the wrong places and with the wrong people. For some, happiness is the material wealth they obtain, for some, happiness is being known and admired, for some, pleasures, etc…Such desires are like a bottomless well- they never come to an end. However, these efforts only gain them a temporary happiness.

So for them, happiness is escape even for a short time from the troublesome and monotonous life they lead and its problems.

However, the satisfaction achieved by all these people is false and fleeting. It only exists at the moment, and when the moment is over the happiness they feel passes with it, and the person again returns to his troubled and monotonous life. Nothing has changed; the person has been comforted only for a short time. Since these people do not know the secret of the peace of mind and happiness, the end they come to, whether a day, a month or a year later, is invariably the same (darkness).

During their lives, people have a variety of targets and plans they would like to fulfil. Although apparently different at first glance, these objectives coincide at a basic level. At the core level people wish to lead their lives in happiness and tranquillity by obtaining as many advantages as they can; the happiness and comfort they enjoy being proportionate to the size of the benefits they get. In this sense, everyone aims to reach this common goal, following different paths (any religion) and using different methods (Astrology, numerology or palmistry), and to spend throughout their lives lots of effort in pursuit of this purpose. However, achieving everything they want and reaching targets still does not change the result: a sad life filled with unhappiness and the troubles it brings with it… except for the true believers, who seek God’s approval and are aware that their true abode is in the Hereafter.

It is our habit to depend on ourselves, our jobs, our friends, our money-everything and everyone except God. Develop the habit of making God your priority, not an afterthought. Talk to Him about what you need at the very moment you need it and trust Him to provide an answer. Your faith will increase as you depend more on Him and less on yourself.

Faith is believing in God and trusting in Him regardless of the circumstances or influences around us. Sometimes we find this easy to do but many times life’s dilemmas can cause our faith to weaken or fail, especially during times of sadness, loneliness, sickness, pain, depression, deprivation or fear.

Patience is a profound faith-builder. Few of us exercise enough patience. We live in a world where we expect to be instantly gratified, so understandably we hope that answers to our prayers should also come promptly. However, God is not bound by time. He answers our prayers in a way that is best for us, at the time that He knows will do us the best. We must have faith to know He is working even though it may seem like the answers come slowly. God is working to change us from the inside, and this takes time. Be patient and in time He will reveal the answers to prayer you so anxiously seek.

Stop worrying about the future. Worrying will not solve your problems. Have faith in Guru/ God, keep patience in every delay, ignore future, do not remember the past, and live in the present.

“God is a faith of human beings that a Supernatural Power exists in this universe which has created us & this all other universal forms. Who is omniscient, who is omnipresent, omnipotent, who is immortal? The faith of humans in such a subject having all supernatural powers is known as God.”
