“You can’t think of two things at the same time. When our focus is on Spiritual Values, it is impossible for is to have lower thoughts such as greed or anger.”
Simple living encompasses some different voluntary practices to simplify one’s lifestyle. These may include reducing one’s possessions or increasing self-sufficiency, for example. Simple living may be characterized by individuals being satisfied with what they need rather than want. Although asceticism promotes living simply and refraining from luxury and indulgence, not all proponents of simple living are ascetics.Simple living is distinct from those living in forced poverty, as it is a voluntary lifestyle choice.
Adherents may choose simple living for a variety of personal reasons, such as spirituality, health, increase in “quality time” for family and friends, work-life balance, personal taste, frugality, or reducing personal ecological footprint and stress. Simple living can also be a reaction to materialism and conspicuous consumption.
This lifestyle can be beautifully summarized in the phrase ‘simple living and high thinking’. The fundamental principle of simple living is accepting whatever is necessary for maintaining the body and peaceful behaviour, so every human being should avoid bad habits of smoking bidi – cigarette, drinking alcohol and eating meat, etc. There is not even a trace of peace and comfort in this life for those who are unnecessarily engaged in these bad habits and vices of lust, anger, greed, affection, arrogance, love-hatred, joy-sorrow, profit-loss, pride-honour, born from the ostentatious or vain display of high living, is troubling every living being.
What exactly is the meaning of ‘high thinking’? One’s vision is not focused directly on the small activities of bodily maintenance but the higher realm of the eternal self. The soul is the actual energy source of the entire body. As the sun rays in a day are present everywhere in the form of its energy, light, in the same way, the soul is experienced throughout the entire body in the form of its energy, consciousness. That the eternal soul is separate and distinct from the temporary material body – This stage of self-realization is attained after a long time of the process of high thinking backed by a dedicated lifestyle of simple living directed towards the aim of life which only can be achieved by the grace and blessings of the Guru / God.
We must keep in mind that we were human being have to behave or treat with every person in a brotherly way, in a very honourable way. As love is God and God are love, whether he is Hindu, Islam, Sikhism, Christianity, Jainism,…, etc., the various sects (Panths), which are prevalent, even then nowadays millions of people are wandering in search of happiness and peace,
Someone learned all the Vedas/grants by heart, someone started practising fierce tap and started activities like yoga, meditation, Dyanna, Hawan, yagya, etc., but could not achieve happiness, peace of mind or the ultimate goal of life. Therefore according to the Saints and Sages, One makes progress according to the capacity and knowledge of one’s Guru ( when the disciple has complete faith in his Guru), i.e. The believer’s future depends on upon One’s Guru. A Guru is a mother, the Guru is father, Guru is our real friend, he will show us the right path divine path, he will make our doubts, remove problems from our way,
A guru is one who is supposed to have superior knowledge; they share their knowledge without expecting anything in return,
Guru is nothing less than the God we worship.
