Why we have fear and How to overcome fear

“Your fear is 100% dependent on you for its survival.”

Fear is something we develop within ourselves as we grow up. A child doesn’t fear anything. Do you know the reason why children don’t fear anything? It is because they have fewer emotions than we have. And they have fewer emotions because of a lack of information about the real world.

Life is full of ups and downs. As we grow up we learn a lot of things. As we gather the information we take it in a positive as well as negative way. So getting back to your question, if you are fearful about everything then it means that you have a lot of information about everything. So the question is that is it good? Absolutely no. You have a lot of information about everything but it is stored in the wrong sense. You have to overcome this fear.

When the more frightened you become, the less you are employing rationality in getting out of a bad situation; that your fear is overpowering your capacity to think. We fear what other’s think of us and this affects our own clarity of thinking and diminishes and distracts our ability to follow a path toward freedom.

“There are two basic motivating forces: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance. We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create. Evolution and all hopes for a better world rest in the fearlessness and open-hearted vision of people who embrace life.”

The point is that fear has no real existence. It is a product of the mind and, therefore, a choice. Fears that spontaneously arise in mind, like rejection, anger, impatience. These are all a result of the fear of some attachment or desire based on finding satisfaction in samsara. Overcoming fear, anger, attachment and the like is the first step to letting go of negative emotions which allow us to delve deeper into our path towards ultimate, essential awareness. “The only place that fear can exist is in our thoughts of the future. It is the product of our imagination, causing us to fear things that do not at present and may not ever exist. That is near irrationality. Now do not misinterpret, the danger is very real, but fear is a choice.”

You receive thoughts like an antenna gets radio signals. We process thoughts on a higher frequency than the conscious brain. So oftentimes we may have already figured it out subconsciously but need to prove it to the conscious mind. If you think about one part of the brain is artistic and creative, while the other is balanced and logical. The creative side doesn’t work in words. So we have to explain it to our logical side. The logical side is often very fearful and needs everything to make sense.

You’ve heard of the law of attraction? It does truly seem to work in particular in conjunction with highly emotional states. Thing is, it isn’t limited to the positive attraction. A better way of thinking about it might be “Believing equals receiving.”

You won’t need to teach yourself to believe that something wonderful will happen if you teach yourself to stop thinking negative things will happen.
Our minds are more inclined to fear and worry due to primitive survival necessities. If the fears are allowed to dominate, we are a lot less likely to expect good things to happen. Instead, we worry, doubt, dismiss and belittle as we draw comparisons to past experiences.

Your subconscious mind operates on existing beliefs, and if these are negative you can fail and defeat yourself before starting anything. You will have to create a new mind-set that does not keep introducing the stumbling blocks to experiencing wonderful things. That’s when good things are allowed to freely flow into your life. In a nutshell, wonderful things will happen when you think wonderful.
I attract to my life whatever I give my attention, energy and focus to, whether positive or negative. That which is like unto itself is drawn. What you radiate outward in your thoughts, feelings, mental pictures and words, you attract into your life. Nothing external to me has any power over me.

Before we master our enemy FEAR, we must know its name, its ways, and its place of locale and our mind must be prepared to receive it and it begins with study, analysis, and understanding of FEAR.
We have three enemies to clear out the fear. They are indecision, doubt, and Fear.

Remember this, indecision is the seedling of fear! Indecision crystallizes into doubt, the two blend and become Fear! More often, these three remain in our sub-conscious mind, where they are difficult to locate, and still more difficult to eliminate.

But Eliminate indecision, doubt, and Fear! Doubt and fear are great enemies of knowledge. He who has conquered doubt and fear has conquered failure. His every thought is bravely met and wisely overcome.
Here are some basic fears, with some combination of which every human suffers at one tune or another. Also the attention upon the cause and cure of some basic fears.
The fear of POVERTY, CRITICISM, ILL HEALTH, LOSS OF LOVE OF SOMEONE, OLD AGE, DEATH
Fears are nothing more than states of mind. One’s state of mind is subject to control and direction.

Fear of poverty is a state of mind, nothing else! The two ways that lead to poverty and riches travel in opposite directions. If you want riches, you must refuse to accept any circumstance that leads towards poverty. This fear paralyses the faculty of reason, destroys the faculty of imagination, enlarge ways to delays and makes self-control an impossibility.

Criticism will plant fear in the human heart, or resentment, but it will not build love or affection. The Criticism will build inferiority complexes in the mind of the child, Lack of ambition, lack of initiative. Fear of criticism will attack you if you are lack of self-confidence. You have to increase your self-confidence by a focus only on success and motivate yourself always.
Fear of ill health can actually make you ill and that actually stops you from being confident. Anxiety or nervousness cause stomach problem and stomach problem causes all diseases like diabetes, high BP, and much more. About 70 to 75 % of all people who visit physicians for professional service are suffering from imaginary illness. Symptoms mainly include Hypochondria, weakness and intemperance. Women are more susceptible to this fear than men. So go for some meditation, yoga or something suits you just you have to go on any spiritual path.

This fear is useless. Death will come, no matter what anyone may think about it. Accept it as a necessity Symptoms include the habit of thinking about dying instead of making the most of life.

Nothing is permanent in this world. Whatever is born must die. Whatever grows must decay. These are universal laws. Instead of fearing to lose a loved one to death, why not find a purpose in life. A purpose to keep that loved one happy as long as you are together. A purpose combined with persistence to make every moment worth living. Be a soul sister/daughter/wife/mother/father/friend so that when that soul leaves u, it may leave with peace and a feeling of fulfillment.

We will not have everything with us forever but let us purify our love (from any negative thoughts) and add positivity in their lives. Life is more meaningful when u live for others (ur loved ones) and their needs
You cannot stop the birds of sorrow from flying over your head, but you can stop them nesting in your hair.

Because you don’t understand it, society and most religions TEACH you to fear death, the news/media/advertising/marketing in the “modern world” paint death as a horrible ending…and etc.
Fear of death can also be related to ego, pride, and the false sense of identity or an overblown sense of identity, personal delusion, trauma…

If you really wish to know, explore this thought with absolute self-honesty – as that is generally where the answer lies – within your own self.
It is simple to say “let it go”, but it takes work, right effort. It is only a beginner’s guideline for becoming mindful and acting in a morally correct manner. Meditation is the ultimate “fear killer” for this is the only place we can experience a non-dualistic glimpse of our infinite potential.

The first thing for learning for everyone is mindfulness. It is the first elementary level of awareness. It involves being aware of how we are feeling, how we interpret phenomena on a basic level and when we become aware of arising negative emotions, we can choose to let them go. So, mindfulness is facing fear.

Fear is normal. Every person has some kind of fear but most of the people do not show it and act like a fearless person. So remember you are not the only one. But if fear is stopping you from accomplishing your goals or causing you too much stress, it’s time to overcome them. Below are the secrets to overcome fears.

Lessen on alcohol and caffeine intake, exercise regularly and follow a healthy, balanced diet. These are small life changes that make you physically ready to cope with your fears.
Inhalation-When you feel scared, do the following simple exercise: Hold your breath and count to 10, then exhale slowly. Next, take a deep breath for about three seconds and exhale through your mouth. This exercise will help you feel more relaxed.

Failures-“Failure is the pillar to success”. Whoever said this is absolutely correct. Do you know what your actual fear is? It is fear of failure. If you succeed continuously, you shall gradually be used to it and when you face failure for the first time, it would be very difficult for your brain to accept the fact. So if you ask what should be done, I would suggest that fail sometimes and make mistakes (which doesn’t cost you a life) and learn from them as they are your best teachers.

Understanding- Try to find out why you are afraid of something. Is your fear realistic? What makes you feel uncomfortable? The clear analysis will help you eliminate fear from the root
Chat–Sharing your fear with others can be a bit tricky, but it’s a very effective solution. Talk to a friend or family member – sincere conversations will help you clear up any worries.

Just stop procrastinating. I can understand sometimes we are in such situations that our mind automatically drifts towards negative and hopeless thoughts and fears. But it is we only who need to get control of our thoughts and give them the right direction. No one else can do this nor should we ever let anyone else or any situation get control of our thoughts. Be your own master.

Change your view. If you are happy and positive then people around you for whom you are important and whom you affect and who as well are part of your difficult circumstances will get hope? They too will try to be optimistic which will help a lot to handle and change the situation.

Instead of clouding your mind with all the negative what-if’s, thoughts and degrading and thinking low of yourself, make yourself believe first that the things will change for better than only will come to a drive-in you to change them and work for it. Happiness and success come to the optimists.

Positive thinking-While it’s not easy, try to turn your fear into something you can be grateful for. Afraid to speak in public? Be grateful that you have the opportunity to speak in front of many people. Feeling worried about flights? Think of how lucky you were to have the opportunity to travel abroad. Gratitude can help you to control feelings of anxiety and fear.

Comfort zone-Get out of your comfort zone. Well, it is as difficult as it sounds. Fight your fear. Fight it as if you are in a war. It is actually the biggest war because it is between 2 parts of your brain. Make mistakes, laugh at yourself, enjoy the moment you live.

If you find it difficult to be fearless, act as if you do not fear anything. Act with full confidence. This way you will be able to improve yourself.
Think about yourself and not what others think of you. It is your life, not theirs.

Learn from people you meet or see and try to find out what their fear is and how they deal with it. It will give you confidence as well as if you have a similar fear you can also deal with it in the same way.
Make good friends and share your fears or life experiences with them. This way you shall not feel insecure or alone most of the time.

Search for help-If the fear is so great that you are depressed, it’s time to get advice. A qualified therapist will help you manage anxiety – after all, sometimes we need to get help from around.
Facing things we don’t fully understand can be a bit frightening. Therefore, learn more about your obsessions by attending spiritual speeches, listening virtuous songs or music, reading a book, watching a documentary or listening to analytics – remain in the company of a truthful or pure being such as Guru or a monk -knowledge that can help you defeat your fears.

Do not waste time which you will never ever get back thinking and worrying about the uncertain things. Just focus on things and tasks you can do in present. Try to make your present better and the better future will fall into place because LIFE IS ALL ABOUT LIVING IN THE PRESENT AND DOING THE RIGHT THING AT THE RIGHT MOMENT.
